Reviews rules and examines applications to qualify them for approval by the Board of Directors for the following awards and recognitions: REALTOR® of the Year, Rookie of the Year, George Rowell Golden Rule Award, Community Service Award, Special Service Award, and Affiliate of the Year Award. REALTOR® Awards are presented in March, and the Affiliate of the Year Award is presented in November.
Budget/Finance Doug Jefcoat, Chair (dougjefcoat@bellsouth.net)
Establishes the annual budget for the Board and MLS, and addresses any other budgetary or financial issues throughout the year as needed.
Bylaws Reynolds Bickerstaff, Chair (reynolds@bickerstaffparham.com)
Reviews the Board Bylaws, making recommendations to the Board of Directors for revisions and amendments to the Bylaws.
Circle of Excellence Kathleen Mullins, Chair (kmullinsrealestate@gmail.com)
Reviews the Circle of Excellence (COE) rules and criteria and examines all COE applications to qualify them for approval by the Board of Directors. This committee also makes decisions on COE gifts, if any, and coordinates the recognition of recipients at the March Luncheon.

Exchanges ideas, challenges, solutions and listing information of commercial properties in the Columbus and surrounding areas.
Communications / Public Relations Kia Chambers, Chair (kiachambers1@gmail.com)
Promotes the REALTOR® image within our community; creates and distributes press releases (with board approval) to local media and other organizations as needed; plans, organizes, and promotes events to support this goal; assists with promotion of the association and the REALTOR® image through social media.

Develops and recommends educational and awareness opportunities to promote equal opportunity in housing and diversity within the real estate industry.
Entertainment Melissa Brown, Chair (mbsoldit@gmail.com)
Plans, promotes and oversees all Board-approved social functions (i.e. All Ages Easter Egg Hunt, Annual Christmas Party, Adult Trunk or Treat).
GARPAC Kelly Johnson, Chair (kelly.johnson@kpdd.com)
Charged with the duty of raising funds for GARPAC, promote the understanding of the GARPAC committee, host annual events to assist in the collection of investments, strive to meet or exceed GAR’s annual investment goals, participate in recognition of GARPAC investors annually.
Legislative and Political Steve Register, Chair (sregister@bickerstaffparham.com)
Keeps all members advised of all proposed changes in the Federal and State laws affecting the real estate industry. Encourage open communication with local, state, and federal government officials and attend city meetings when necessary. Promote the function of the GARPAC committee. Furnish GAR’s congressional GARPAC trustees and NAR FPCs, districts 2&3, with input on local candidates and issues when applicable.

Makes decisions regarding the rules, regulations, fees, and operation of the Multiple Listing Service.

Plans, organizes and promotes all educational classes and seminars.

Grievance, ethics complaints and arbitration requests are handled through the Georgia Association of Realtors. The Committee members are selected based on specific criteria and additional training is required to serve on these state wide committees.

Plan and schedule the programs for the Columbus Board of REALTORS® luncheons. (Including contact the speaker, forward the appropriate information to Association Executive for the luncheon agenda and send a thank you letter after the luncheon).
